Replaced, belt tensioner, still noises?!?!
okay so took it in complained of squeaking when i was getting other things fixed, thinking it would be some simple adjustment. they replaced the belt tensioner assembly for the ac. still squeaking and took it in again, they replaced ac control head and ac belt tensioner and belt without asking and when i looked at reciept to pick up car i said you already replaced this. They said well first they replaced it for the main belt assmebly and now they replaced it for this different assembly and said they fixed the problem. Good for two days no noises, now it's still squeaking (louder) but squeaks more the faster the rpm's go, something that it never did before. Wish i never mentioned it in the first place and paid all this fucking money to have it worse. Anyone know the problem might be???

So sounds like you have 2 new tensioners (one main and one AC) and a new AC belt, correct? So, if all the pulleys looks clean (no oil, coolant, or other gooey/slimely mess) and there isn't any pulley misalignment, then I suggest you replace both belts with a gatorback belt.

X3 -- Some belts just tend to be noisy. Had a set of Kelly belts on my Talon a few years back and they were awful, especially in damp weather. Quick test is to shoot the belt with a little belt dressing. If the squeak disappears, but returns after a few days, then you just need to try a different brand of belt. Gatorbacks are a little pricey, but I have never had any issues or noise with a set.

Pull the main belt & spin the waterpump pully.
Might have a bearing going out in it.

The Gator Back belts are actually thinner than their stock counterpart, I would use the stock replacement for the extra strength.

Really?? Come on, I don't think strength is much of an issue with any serp belt out there. Originally Posted by SteveC
