What are yall listenin to nowadays?

Getting bored as hell with my music.

Haven't really been checkin out metal lately i'll flip to XL Liquid metal then say fuck it, and put my mixtapes back in lol well I heard a few hatebreed songs a couple of weeks ago but thats about it. Yall know of any good newer metal songs? I know theres probably about a billion gabillion of these threads but, times change, new music comes out so i guess it's not like a repost or anything like that.

To be honest i've been listenin to "real D.C. trap shit" what my goons at school call it. I can gurantee 100% of you on this site have no idea what the said phrase means. Basically means what the people in the "hood" of D.C. are listening to and they're bringing it over to our side of the city, which is like 10 min. away from us.

I have been listening to almost like ZERO metal within the past month because i've been keeping up with the "trap" music.

Consists of like all of "Gucci mane" mixtapes, I bet 50% of you don't know who he is and this rapper "Waka flocka" he turned out to be a fucking sick ass rapper who probably 100% of you don't know who he is. Don't know why they both grew on me for some reason. Hated em before now they're fuckin nasty. The glove compartment in the suburban is filled with their new mixtapes.

But anyways, now time to switch back to metal, post some of the current good shit. If you don't feel like putting a link down just type the song and artist down and i'll look em up and listen.

    Thanks guys.

I gotta check Best Buy to see if there are any new Disturbed albums. I might put either Vulgar Display of Power back in my car...or maybe CFH. I dunno.

Yea pantera is awesome, but I've listened to that Vulgar Display of Power about 20 thousand times over the summer so i've had enough of them for a while.

Man, this is a sucky friday, know where to go, nothin to do.

    Bingo.

Really liking the new Killswitch Engage album, the new Five Finger Death Punch disc, and this newer band name Sick Puppies.
Several others as well, just kinda what I am listening too lately.

You've never heard (or heard of) Queensryche? Never heard Jet City Woman? Empire? Revolution Calling? Spreading the Disease (my favorite)? How sad...

I've seen them live 3 times (I ve only seen Rush more often at 6 times).

Operation: Mindcrime is classic but they did a lot more than that.

    Exerpt from Spreading the Disease:

Sixteen and on the run from home,
Found a job in Times Square working live S&M shows.
    Twenty-Five bucks a fuck and John's a happy man.
She wipes the filth away and it's back on the street again

Spreading the disease, every body needs.
But no one wants to see.

Father William saved her from the streets.
She drank the life blood from the savoirs feet.
She's Sister Mary now, eyes as cold as ice.
He takes her once a week on the alter like a sacrifice.

Spreading the disease, every body needs.
But no one wants to see.

I guess for you they'd be "old school" as the were current in the 80's and 90's.

Speaking of "old school" have you ever heard of Rush? How about Dream Theater? Both are prog Rock bands.

Sorry for the long post but even now they're still one of my favorite bands.

If you're up for a challenge try a real early one: Yes's Close to the Edge. 37 years later and I still listen to the song/album and get a rush up my spine.

all you need is the new Megadeth album "end game", alot better than metallica's new one.

also check out some of these bands, on a whole other level than any disturbed or anything the radio deems "metal".

    Novembers Doom
    Amon Amarth (viking metal)
    The Day Everything Became Nothing
    Hypocrisy
    Bloodbath
    Krisiun
    Nile
    Despised Icon
    The Berzerker
    Satyricon
    Skeleton Witch
    Dying Fetus
    Winds of Plague

O well the new five finger death punch is good though i have to say even tho they have the worst lyrics of all time

Amon Amarth. "Viking Metal" is a very good discription of their sound.

Nope never heard of no queensryche in my entire life. I'm from the city, grew up on mostly rap. Just got into the metal/rock stuff a year or two ago, I like it. I just looked up that band, they are like an old school 80's band or something? Can kind of tell by the way the lead singer sounds. They are good though, thanks.

I found like 6 songs people suggested in this thread that are badass. Thanks a bunch for your suggestions everybody!
