Original clutch lasting 125k miles????
I emailed the previous owner. I dinged 200k km and am wondering if this clutch is original since everything else has been untouched. Still grabs hard and burns 2nd if I try really easy but I don't do it often
How long do they generally last?Last edited by 5abivt; 08-28-2009 at 10:01 PM.

I'm at 135K on mine.
My rearend just started whinning about a months ago on worn out street tires so the clutch obviously still works pretty good.Craig

I had 76,000 on mine with about 50 track passes and it grabbed like new when I took it out. After I took it out, it only would have lasted about another 5,000 or so miles before it started slipping.

Very cool to hear. I thought I might have been in for a horror story about not changing it. It does grab well and no slippage but I do hear some noises and have some more questions.
WHen I shift between gears just moving the lever I hear what sounds like something loose in the tranny almost as if the tranny is moving with the lever.
I hear whining from the rear also. is this a sign of anything? It pretty much always did it since I bought it. Obviously louder/quieter on or off the throttle but its always there.

I have 145K+ on my stock clutch, and it still grabs very well.

If you drive your car like your average Civic driver and don't abuse it at all, it will last indefinitely.
(However, as Cutlass mentioned, its imperative that the hydraulics are in good working order)
If you drive your car the way it was meant to be driven, you'll probably get between 75-100K out of the stock clutch.
If you abuse the hell out of your stock clutch, its probably not going to live a very long life.
