Navy Blue Metallic- 2000 T/A Firehawk M6
someone hold me back..... or not?
I suddenly have the mod the hell out of my car bug. I went to go look at UMI SFC's and STB and all of a sudden was like... hmmm what about torque arm relocation mount... hmm and a new torque arm gee how about LCA's and an adjustable panhard while i'm at it. I know i'll get the panhard relocation kit too and if i'm going through all this i might as well get new front and rear sway bars with poly bushings. wow i think I need a whole new K member to go with this, only makes sense. You know with all these suspension mods i'll be carrying a lot more speed in corners, better get a good big brake kit. Oh wow now I almost forgot some springs to best utilize all this hardware, I already have the shocks. well shoot looks like all i'm missing is a 12 bolt better throw one of those in there for good measure.
Seriously my bank card jumped out of my pocket and hid behind the couch when it saw what i was clicking on. i have to agree with it.... I really don't have the funds for all that right now. but seriously after all that I'd have one hell of a base to drop a seriously powerful motor/tranny into
Meh. i guess i'll just order SFC's and STB maybe tonight.

I know the feeling. I am saving up for an over the radiator cold air intake. That Hawk handles great from the get-go from what I saw from Pa. I would start small, like the STB, then when funds allow, go for the SFCs and other stuff.

nah the SFC's and STB are CHEAP!!!! 348 plus shipping from sam. and not the garbage stuff either. the 3 point bolt on UMI SFC's and UMI STB. I'd prefer to keep the hawk a bolt on car. Weld's bother me since the car IS collectible. Like I said I'll prob order them this week. I think my next mods after the SFC's and STB will be a lid and a 12 bolt. my rear makes a bearing noise and has a leaky pinion seal. I'd rather get a strange 12 bolt with 4.10's or 4.30's and be done with it. Maybe... just maybe i'll have those before 2009 is out.

Sounds like a plan to me!
Heck, I am already thinking about my "over the winter" mods. When we first bought our T/A it was bone stock. I planned on leaving it that way... until I joined this site and saw what everyone had done to their cars.
I just installed UMI SFC's last week. My winter list: Kooks LT's, Kooks catted Y, Magnaflow Catback, secondary air delete, drive shaft loop (and possibly UMI adjustable torque arm), boxed LCA's, and a mail order tune from Frost. That's in a perfect world, of course.

see my whole problem is the NY inspections. my father had a legal car and failed because the one of the cats wasn't a ford cat. He had to argue till he was blue in the face to pass having to prove that in fact the cat had failed and it was replaced with a real cat at an actual muffler shop. They still insisted they couldn't pass him because it wasn't an OEM part. Thankfully he eventually won his way and got his sticker. but here in NY either you "know" someone or ur screwed.

Im still looking at 2600 dollar heads for my setup now, and later. I also want a front mount turbo, and a 408. Fuel rails. Guages/pod. Weld lite skinney, drag setup.
Looks like we both made a wish list.

Cause were both badass half broke bitch's with eyes bigger then our bank accounts.
The heads, fuel rails, guages shouldnt be a problem. I really need that new job ( The one I was telling you about a few months ago). If I get that job, hello xx,xxx/ yr and a few toys. I have the money for the heads, but Im leary of blowing it if I end up moving across the country and having 2600+ sitting 4000 miles away
Well see, hows your projects going?

Eh, I have my own problems. Oil consumption at its finest. Valve seals. Dont wanna get into that. Thats why Im looking into new heads. I really like the heads I have now. But the amount of work I would have to put into them... Eh whatever. Axle shaft seal keeps going out on me on the DS side on my 9". Has me stumped. And pissed. Im sick of seeing this car on jack stands.

Other then all that BS, yea its going just great

Yeah. Something tells me if I went to an MVC center here I would fail for noise. But since my job does NJ state inspections, I passed. OBD1 and 2 scanner.

Dont even get me started on north jersey inspection stations. The idiot that does the test will fail you just based on an opinion rather then actual fact. They know nothing about cars and wish they were mechanics. Instead they get their jollies off failing 2 yr old cars for the dumbest shit, just so you have to drive all the way back over their and wait in line on your day off or on the late night all pissed off. Over fucking wiper blades or the one light bulb you missed. ridiculous. Exhaust? pfff apparently NJ inspection guys have built in decibel meters in their ears.
