2 reasons-- i was wanting to put 255/40/18 on the front & 295/35/18 on the rear to keep the height about the same, If i go with 10" up front & 11" then I have to use 275/35 up front & the 295/35 on rear-- then I see it as a Must lowering of the car"s suspension to give it the proper look, With my 1st, choice i was hoping it would look ok without dropping the car,?
Also I was hoping Not to lower the car since it is a WS6 convertible with only 7500 Original miles.

If you're going to run 255/40/18 tires up front why not just run a 8", or 8.5" (IMO, MAX) wide wheel so you have a little more wheel lip protection?
Also, if you run a 10.5" wide rear wheel you have the option of going to a wider tire later if you want.Last edited by Blue28; 07-27-2009 at 08:43 AM.

the factory stock Speedline rims on the car are 9" so I really see no reason to drop back to a 8" wheel?
Offset is the main factor when purchasing any wheel,
In most cases a 9 "or 10" up front will be in the 44--48mm offset
rear would be in the 46--49mm offset with a 10 or 11" rim

I see u are still undecided...LOL...Either way with the amount of research you are doing and the wheels you have picked out I am sure it will turn out nice.
I would def. stay at 9 9.5 up front...I like having the same size on all 4 corners but having a wider tire in the back is great to and as far has tires heights I think the differences would be negligable, however thats just a thougt/opinion w/o any facts supporting it lol.

and if you dont think it looks right once you get your wheels, then drop it any way. Nothing looks better than a black t/a on beautiful wide chrome rims that is sitting super low.

guys--- board member is telling me I should consider the 551 CCw 18" wheel for my2002 WS6 triple black convertible . he thinks they look as good or better than the 55a & beside there are so many 55a wheels out there,ALSO he thinks the 10" up front & 11" on rear may be too aggressive & should do the 18x9" up front & the 18 x10" on the rear?? Will be a a better look on this convertible according to his expert opinion??
THOUGHTS--OPINIONS PLEASE -- ASAP !!

I just found this link those 551's are pretty sick bro. They both are I mean Im torn...either one would be an excellent choice...I always tend to lean to the one that is more rare so:

To be honest i may consider 9-9.5" up front & the 10--10.5" on rear.
I tend to agree that the 10" & 11" combo may be a tadd bit bulky for my convert???
Wish i could see a few pics of a black convert with the ccw 18"

10 is alot up front I think, but its been done...11 in the back is more popular Ive seen then 10 though...most guys that wanna go wider in the back go 9.5 up front and then 11 in the rear

john from ccw tells me that the 10& 11" combo is 98% of his sales for the T/A & camaro. I think the 11" lip is agressive & the 10--10.5" would be best for the rear
will speak to john for a while before I do pull the trigger on a sale

I would go with either 9/11 or 10/11 and definately go with the 551's. They are sick wheels!
