Tribal NewsCrane Cams Closes Its Doors
Cam manufacturer Crane Cams has closed its doors after 56 years of service to the hot rod industry. Crane began in 1953, in Hallandale, Florida, "in an unused corner of company-founder Harvey J. Crane Jr.'s father's machine shop," according to Crane's website. By the mid-'60s, it was a leader in cam designs for NHRA racers. The company's last day of business was February 24, 2009. LiquiTec Industries was hired to auction off Crane's trademarks, inventory, and equipment on April 22, 2009.
