Hmmm Any ideas? 2 Stepping?
just got my pcm back today from frost...
The pcm was sent our for air pump and egr delete, gears calibration and the usual. I had the shift points set at 6,000.
Before the car was tuned it would bounce of the rev limiter 3 times in between shifts.
Now the car wont shift until you get out of the throttle .(while at 100%tpa)
The car has a maf low input code (p0102)
There are no transmission dtcs or slip codes, and i cant really tell if its the tranny slipping or just the rev limiter kicking and delaying the shifts (it only does this whille totaly mashing on the gas)
any ideas?

maybe the shift points are set too high for your gear calibration.

thats what im thinking, the trans cant handle it, and the shift points are so high its hitting rev limiter first

the car has a 6 speed 3 channel rear in it , but with the ls1 drivetrain
now the rear in the car doesnt have a rear vehicle speed sensor for the traction control system, so can the transmission be messing up and not sensing the speed and causing this to happen? Or is the front wheel speed sensors enough, and has nothing to do with it?
the car does not have traction control because of this rear

it's not the traction control. You PCM gets the speed signal from the back of the trans on the tailshaft housing. You shift tables may need to be scaled for the gears? I get confused on if it's the LT1 or the LS1 PCM's that use speed for the shift points; the other uses RPM. Or it's the trans itself that can't handle it.

spoke with steve williams, he said the rpm and speed signal need to match to properly shift, or be focused on strictly rpm in the pcm when tuned.and it is throwing a p0102 for maf, and the 98 is ssaid to solely focus on the maf for line pressure and shift points. so it could definately be a bad maf , gotta try a new one

This has happened to me before, 98 A4.
I had my car professionally tuned with shift points tuned higher also.
I always just assumed it was my tranny being nice, giving early signs...
I make sure to have the tranny serviced annually just in case.

I told you to ship it back on the phone, but you never once mentioned before, on the sheet, in PM or on the phone that it did this BEFORE tuning as well...
As I mentioned on the phone, I can't see anything that would cause it (I don't change shift points at ALL for boltons cars, only firm up shifts) to happen but it is a 98 and I have seen some strange things from 98s.
The p0102 means that you are running in SD too btw. You said you knew someone with a MAF that you could try.

if your maf is bad that could definitely be the root cause as it would throw off load values the tranny uses for line pressure.

well that was a big swing and a miss, installed a new slp maf and the code is gone, but the car still hit rev limiter ..
