Hood Baffles HELP Quick
Ok guys, I'm in panic mode this morning...I have a dyno tune scheduled tonight and my car is in pieces. 2002 Trans Am WS6
I'm trying to install the JAAM Ram Air kit which required the removal of the hood baffles. BUT How Do I Get Them Out.
I unscrewed the front "honeycombed" pieces and took them out, then I drilled the heads off the rivets holding the back of the interior baffles and popped it loose. But how do I get it out. It's a big rectanular piece stuck up inside the nose of the hood and it has to come out through a smaller rectangular hole....and there isn't much wiggle room. I REALLY don't want to have to break it into pieces but how else do people get it out?
And in the front, are those pieces baffles as well....can they be removed and if so how? Here Are some pics showing what I'm trying to remove...the first one shows a red spot on what I'm wondering about (is it also a baffle, does it come out) and a green spot on the loose baffle that I just can't get out now thats its popped loose. The last two pics are of the big loose baffle that is stuck up in the hood purly because of its size (same baffle with green dot on it in pic #1)Last edited by Intrepidman; 06-02-2009 at 05:03 AM.

They are glued on as well.
Took some elbow grease for me to get them out.

you have to drill those rivets out. get you a drill bit about the size of the rivet and grind the rivet head down.

Yea, I feel like a dumb ass...I didn't realized there was glue on the rear baffles, it came right out with a few good taps.
As for the rivets though, I prefer a slightly larger bit, seems to do a better job of poping the heads off.

Just like these guys have said^^
But, I found it funny you said your cars in pieces because your hood baffles were half way taken out
