Just ordered one of these
I have the first generation Glock 21- full size .45, but it's too big to carry concealed. So, I ordered the Glock 30 compact with Trijicon night sites. Good feel, comfortable and easy to shoot. What I like most about these weapons is the simplicity- just point and pull the trigger. I was almost talked into a .40 but I'm partial to the .45. Had Smith & Wesson made the M&P in a compact .45 I might have went with that. Should be in this weekend or next. I'm consistant 215ish with a high of 222 out of 225 on our course of fire, so I'm anxious to run through with this and see how I do.

Don't waste your money on a 9mm. Get something for the same amount or a few $ more like a .40 cal or 10 mm. I know from personal experience that 9mm don't do jack shit unless it is a head shot. If your life depends on it make sure it has a 4 in the caliber. The 10 mm are almost as good as .40 cal, 1-2 milimeters in difference in size.

Totally agree BUT, as aforementioned i am in canada and you have a better chance of being put in jail for killing or even injuring the asshole that broke into your house. Sounds fucked up doesnt it? but im a n00b at firearms and i got a 9mm just because cheaper ammo for wasting at the range.

You must have girlie hands!
I carry a Springfield XD, usually in a paddleback on mu back with no problem. My two bottom fingers hang off of those baby Glocks and subcompact 1911s.

you are mis informed my friend. 10mm Bullets are the exact same size as .40 cal. 10mm moves the same projectile at higher velocities. 40 s&w was developed from the 10mm cartridge
Not saying what you have or havent seen, but I have confidence that my 9mm will do the exact same thing my .45s will. It's a moot point to even argue. The 9mm is small and fast and the .45 is big and slow. they will do the job

Subsonic FMJ (aka military issue 9mm) anything won't do much good.

Well, tell me why the insurgent that was charging me, I shot 2 times in chest with my 9mm using FMJ's (mil ammo is sonic) , didn't go down until I drop him with a head shot? He had no body armor and was between 10 - 15 ft in a full run. I have shot charging wild boars with a .45 and dropped them from 30 ft away. And they have more body density than a man does.
(Understand I am not bragging above, I just know what happen in a combat situation)
