Detailing?

I remember there being a thread on here before about detailing, using the Porter Cable, products, a full run down on how-to, etc. I can't seem to find it if anyone has it somewhere please forward it.

I'm looking at what I need to have to do a kick but job on detailing my car. I want that slick, wet shine and look that everyone that shows cars gets. Thanks for the help!

1. Washed with Meguiars Gold Class and wool mitt.
2. Goose's special concoction to remove light swirls and clean the paint.
3. Prima Finish
4. Prima Amigo (removed product, allowed to cure overnight)
5. Washed with Meguiars Gold Class and wool mitt.
6. Prima Amigo
7. Victoria's Concours Red (2 coats)

Questions what is Goose's Special Concoction?
With #4 Prima Amigo what exactly do you mean by "removed product"

Goose's special concoction is basicly Menzerna SIP.
In step #4...removed the product means using a microfiber towel and removing what was applied to the paint.

did you apply all of those products by hand?

Also luos did you remove the prima amigo after the second application? And could you pm me the links to the place you buy it?

Also I read that the Victoria's concours red is wonderful for dark paint, how about white paint?

Use Victoria's Yellow.

I used a PC to apply everything aside from the Victoria's.
Any polish, glaze, or wax I used was removed after applying.

pc? I use a rotary buffer is that the same thing?

PorterCable.

Rotary can burn paint because it spins much faster. Although, when used correctly, it can pull up defects the PC can't.

Thanks for the info guys. PC seems to be in the near buying future. I'm also interested in where you buy your products? Any site sponsors? Menzerna was what I looked up when I didn't find Goose's. Thanks!

Goose is a friend of mine.

Google 'Detailers Paradise' and/or 'Prima wax' for where to get most of that stuff.
Autogeek dot net is a good one as well.

What about Clay Bar how does this play into what's been listed here? Do I need to clay bar still or does Menzerna replace the need to do that. I'm new to quality detail work so forgivie me for the 20/20.

There is no substitute for clay barring. Clay barring removes the debris from the surface. You need to claybar before you wax/polish/seal.

Mr. Lou thank you for your feedback. After much mention about the Porter Cable kit I purchased a kit and then the products you listed plus a Clay Bar kit. I hope I can get mine to shine and look like it's wet and a mirror like yours does. Thanks for the feedback and help!
