came up on a 03-05 (not sure) bmw M5 on a two-lane 45 mph stretch. rolled down my window said..."nice car man, you ready?" as i shifted down into second around 25-30mph he pointed back to my car as if to return the compliment. he took a while to get it into the gear he wanted to, we pulled pretty even until he wound out longer than i could but 3rd and 4th i was right on his bumper. i couldnt beleive how well i did. man i need more mods!!!!

I beat an older model M5 in my LS1 camaro with just an air intake, believe it was an 02? Put about 1.5 cars on him, the one you raced could have been modded...

The older BMW M5s run a 4.9L DOHC V8 with 394hp and 368tq. They are very stout and bolt ons wake them up a bit like any other V8. Unfortunately, the car is very heavy, weighing 4000+lbs. depending on the options you get. It is a luxury sedan.

On average these cars do mid to low 13s in stock form, about the same as an LS1 F-body. So your run is about accurate. Nice job man.

Where you at in WI? There is a blue M5 that runs around Milwaukee area, its still N/A but its a fully built engine. I ran that guy last summer, he pulled me pretty good, by the time i was at 110mph he had about 10 cars on me. I think his name was Sean, if you find him run him just to hear his car, its nasty. Good race

is that 4.9 blown? Nah it cant be, putting out 390's hp with a DOHC....nice run though! I doubt it was an 05+, you prob would have noticed (those things look siiick, w/ huge stock wheels) and its a 5 liter V10 pushing out at least 493 to the crank, w/ a 7 speed SMG

An 05+ would have owned him.

The older BMW M5s are not blown, just a N\A 4.9L V8, and yes it comes stock with 394hp at the flywheel.

+1 you would have done alittle better,ive messed around with a couple of new 05+ m5s, no clear runs, but they seem to try to hang pretty good

It was a good run, and the guy was pretty cool about it. I just have my lid, free ram air, tbb, and my 3 inch cat back cme. im in hudson in wi so i dont think i will be seeing that blue m5 anytime soon. an even better pull i had a day or two later was between me and my buddies 87 audi a2. my friend is pretty well off so the car is gutted, slammed, a built mk4 vr6 swap with a very large turbo. he had no fuel managment so he was only pushing 6 psi but we had a couple pulls and he was a dead nuts even race. ill try to get the vid up soon.

Im glad to see the M5 owner was cool about it, i saw vid on youtube of a M5 owner beating a stock SS and also beating a stock E92 M3, the M5 had minor bolt on i think it was a tune, exhuast and intake. The SS later did a few bolt ons SLP lid, ORY and exhust with tune i think and had 331rwhp and easily pulled the M5 owner. When i contacted the M5 owner he was a complete a**. Starting to say a few things about camaro's, basically to sum it up there POS. Then eventually made an excuse that his MAF is messed up and he was only pushing around 315 rwhp against the camaro and thats why he lost, funny he didnt say that or give any proof of any dyno numbers. Sad to say too many people out there like this guy who just make themselves look worse the more they type and make excuses. I told him next time if he knows the facts as he soo specifically states everything else its kinda odd that he didnt mention having a bad MAF, lol.
