Cam advise
Greetings,
I am trying to get some advise on cam selection. I am doing a transplant (99 LS1 & T56 transmission from a WS6 TransAm into a 78 Corvette). I want to get as much horsepower as possible without sacrificing the fuel economy in overdrive that much. I know there is a tradeoff but I would like the best bang for the buck. Also I plan on maybe installing a turbo later on. so that needs to be taken into account. I plan on keeping stock heads and using ls6 intake manifold, maybe when I go turbo changing the heads to the truck lower compression heads.
Any advice?

Custom grind is def the best way^
but a 228/228 114lsa is your best biggest daily driver "small cam" that wouldn't suck being force fed.

Get a LS6 cam, they do well with forced air and for now, will give you a small bump in HP.
