Ceramic vs SS
Hey quick ? My friend told me that the stainless puts out alot more heat then I'm going to want in the future. I ordered stainless in stead of ceramic... I could always just rap the headers if heat ever becomes an issue right?

yes you could rap them if you like but you shouldnt need to. ss is going to last a longer time them ceramic will.

Even the coating on those headers eventually come off over time and begin to rust, stainless is the best route

Just ceramic coat the ss headers, the best of both. That's what I did.

ceramic coated ss is the way to go. if the ceramic is done right on a set os regular steel headers it can last just as long if it is not scraped up. We have a ceramic that is good for up to 1600*.

Stainless is a good way to go, but I will have to fall in line with all of those who ceramic coated their headers (stainless or not). As far as a thermal barrier, ceramic is best, in fact ceramic coating is listed as a thermal barrier, the look of ceramic coating is just a side benifit.

Hey man, like you said at first, you can always wrap um once they are in the car if heat becomes a problem. No biggie right! Im sure you will enjoy them either way. I dont think heat will be a problem for you anyhow. Heat sink will help overall performance of the engine, but compared to other modifications heat sink is minimal.

You won't need to wrap them. I know prolly a dozen guys (myself included) with ss headers, no wrap and no problem. Stainless retains heat better than mild steel to begin with. As for ceramic coated, I've never seen a set that didn't start rusting after a few years.

depends on whether your taking it to someone to have tuned or doing the mail-order tunes and just sening it off. few of the places you can just send off to offer 1 year free updates. so, if/when you got that intake just send it back.
