new tire time
Hey anyone there experiemnted with different tire profiles?
I eventually want to get some spring lowering going on to bring it down as low as my brothers vette, but for now am wondering since i have to replace the tires anyway...has anyone thrown lower profiles on a camaor (I have a 99 SS)? Does it look ok. I am currently running the factory chrome 5 spokes and love 'em so something to work with that would be great.
IDEAS ANYONE...PREFERABLY WITH PICS!

welcome aboard, friendly canuck !!!
if you want lower profile tires, you might want larger diameter wheels.
ideally you would want to maintain the same overall diameter of the tires you decide to go with.
An example would be 275/35-18 which would be the exact same height as te 275/40-17.
if you decide to get wider wheels, such as 17x11, you can get 315/35-17 (lower profile but exact same sidewall and height).
So my first question is what kind of wheels are you having in mind as far as size (17,18,etc) and width (9", 11", etc)
2nd q? what suspension are you thinking of... just wanna make sure you don't shoot yourself on the foot and not chose adequately for your needs.Eugenio_SS
almost stock triple-black 2000 SS convertible with 17x11s on all 4 w/ 315s at the track or on the street with 18x10.5s on all 4 w/ 315s: (1), (2)

Hey I like what I can see of your car your pic! Sounds like you have done some wheel stuff on it. Great to see a fellow canuck on the site. We are vastly outnumbered. It seems there are more camaros in US
Another question for ya...sounds like you have done some track time with your car. Is it mostly stock? Mine is new to me am wondering what kinda performance I could expect out of it. Are there any Camaro clubs in Canada you know of. I would love to get with a club and go to a road track some time!
I kinda like my current wheels I am sporting and was hoping to just change the look and ride height a bit for now with the tire profile. I quite like the chrome five spokes i am sporting and cant afford a wheel change either...
Eventually i am hoping in terms of suspension to put on the eibach spring lowering kit just to bring it down a bit.

what part of Canada you from ?
i know of at least the Montreal F-Body Club and the Toronto F-Body Club.
my car... well let's say the paint is stock... and that's pretty much it... although I try to keep it looking stock.
remember that ou'll want shocks to control the car when you lower it.
There is a local guy that is selling his Eibach Prokits, if you're interested, btw... he's also an admin on the local club.

Hey Guys just wanted to jump in here if I could. I am thinking about this tire combo you just suggested ...which one of these would fit for this particualar application if any:

given the offsets, I'd put a 1/4" spacer on all corners.
