For senior staff and F-body pros....
I am about to complete the fun task of replacing my steering rack, and after my research and hearing about the engineer F@#k up in the bolt that is only removable by removing the alt, motor mount bolt and lifting the engine.
I would much rather cut off the bolt with a wheel or plasma torch, somethin along those lines.
Only thing is need is specs on the bolt. I know i need grade 8 for strength but what diameter, lenght, head size and thread type is the bolt in question???
I know it is late but I want to do this tomorrow morn. anyone up late that has the info I need???
I gotta couple nice GF pics for my bolt spec hero!!

Thanks to Larry @ Bankston Chevrolet on hwy 26 in NRH for the bolt specs. I'll go ahead and put them out there for anyone else's further reference.
Power steering rack bolt specs - M12X1.75X65, 30THD 10.9, POR (S/GR)
Of course you want to use grade 8 or some sort of hardened steel bolt.
All you guys that took off the alternator, unmounted the engine, proceeded to lift it, only to have to reverse all that all again to save a $1.00 bolt and went through all that trouble are CRAZY. I cut it off in about 90 seconds with a torch, then put the new $1.00 bolt and saved tons of time and frustration.
