Torrid Red- 2004 Pontiac GTO
Anyone else have a recurring ABS fault?
Well its been a while since I lasted posted here, but it's winter and the GOAT is hibernating until spring.
Here's the question: I have had a recurring ABS fault causing the ABS light to come off and on has anyone else had this issue?
I have had it in the shop about 8 times for this problem and everytime it was fixed the light came back on several days after I got it back from the shop. All repairs were made while it was under factory warranty, but that has expired. It's minor, but irratating.
Another question would be, since it was repaired under warranty would it still be covered since the problem still persists or am I gonna have to shell out some bucks to get it fixed?
By the way my GOAT is a 2004 M6.
Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts on this issue.

Check the rear speed sensors on the diff(small black thingys on either side of the diff cover). One or both could be out of sync or too close/far away from the exciter(gear looking thingys) rings on either side of the diff. Could need to be spaced closer or shimmed further apart.

questions, did you put diffrent tires on for winter? is something like snow getting packed in between sensors? do the reluctor wheels look evenly spaced away from the sensors? was it the front sensors on the front wheels checked they will do the same thing..need more info..

Take a business card and make sure your rear sensors are no more than the thickness of that business card from the exciter (gear)....

The spec is 1MM. Also check your connections. If you have a low battery (I know you didn't in this case) one of the first alarms you will get is ABS for some reason. So the connections are mounted in the overhead above the diff housing. Pull them down and apart. The just pull straight apart. Clean them up and put some dielectric grease in there.

Thanks for all the input guys!!! I finally got around to checking everything out over the weekend and it turns out my battery is the culprit. It was a little low on its charge, so I charged her up and everything is gravy!!!
