Cam ?
I am working on a budget so I wanted to see what everyone opinion is. I want a cam but i know I need an intake and headers also. How much will I choke my cam if I do the cam first? I want a TR224/224 LSA114. Is this too much cam for stock heads and intake? Can I get buy with just headers? Or will I need headers and intake? Any help will be appreciated!

To optimize the gains from a cam, yes you should do the exhaust work first, headers,Y-Pipe, CB etc. As far as the "Intake" do you mean LS6 manifold? Lid/filter? What part of the intake are you speaking of? Lid should be one of the first mods for the car. And finally no the TR224/224 won't be too "much" of a cam for stock heads, in fact it is one of the favorite cams out there because of it's gains and reliabilty for a DD car. If you track run the car you might want to go bigger. The TR224/224 with a good tune will pull nice HP/TQ gains from 1800 RPMS on up with other bigger cams peaking it up top, above 5000 RPMS.

I already have a Mac ORY-pipe, and Borla exhaust, SLP lid with K&N filter, all the free mods, and I am about to port the TB. This is my DD. Is th LS6 intake necessary, and how long can I get by without a tune?

minus headers, expect about half of the gains a cam would give you.
me getting a 224/224 cam gave me a 39 rwhp bump with tuning2000 nhra edition formula
a few bolt ons, 379 rwhp

I plan on headers just not at this time. I would also like to get an LS6 intake in the future.

I just ordered the TSP 224R on a 112LSA and i am hoping it will turn out good for a daily driver on stock tune with an M6. I did a lot of research and this cam is very popular because of its great gains and drivability. Ill let you know how it goes after the install if you havent made your decision.

Will the 112 pass emissions even with a good tune?

That sounds great. I decided to wait on the cam for a while so I got a set of long tubes. I am gonna do the supporting mods first but I would still like to hear how it turned out. Did you do it yourself? Any problems and how long did it take?
