Shifting from 2nd to 1st...the result

I was there when this happened and I was laughing my ass off for a good 10-15 minutes...even helped him push the car onto a trailer so he could take it home.

I raced a friend of mine in his Ford Focus SVT... he was shifting to fourth, and somehow hit second....I heard baWAAAAAAAAAAA, and it looked like he slammed on the brakes lol. He made it home, but the next day there was a rattle in the tranny...he ended up replacing his entire clutch system. Surprised the tranny made it through...

thats some extreme stuff. A normal transmission would not do that at all. Think about it: when your cruising down the highway and romp on the gas peddle the trans is literally dropping down in gear (passing gear) and you accelerate. Call it down shifting whatever. I'm thinking that dude broke a drive shaft (or whatever they call that part in an import). Maybe it dug into the track. Guys who race with power glides are only using two gears high and low, they dont even shift into 2nd untill the line. Ask me what that has to do with the video clip and i'll say ??hmm

that car is not an auto. he manually shifted 1st-2nd then back into 1st. it over revved and lifted the back wheels.
