VIDEO: My Firehawk (TR 230) vs WS6 (MTI X1)
A few races between my Firehawk (TR230 + 4.10's ~360rwhp) and my brothers WS6 (X1 ~430rwhp). I bogged down pretty bad on the last one as you can see:
And here's a video showing more of my car:

Awesome races. Just goes to show you how much of a difference those gears make.
I remember the thread you made when you were getting the stripes done, looks amazing!

What is the part # on that cam? I tried a search for a TR230 but couldn't find anything. I've always had carburated(sp) cars so I'm new to the fuel injected stuff. Did you have to do any computer programing for that cam? Is it ok if I PM you with more questions? I don't want clutter up this thread with a bunch of tech questions.

It's pretty much a must that you need to get it dyno tuned. After I got it tuned, it ran great. It really doesn't drive much different than stock. The only time it'll bog down is if I'm idling and make a quick turn like into a parking lot because it takes power to drive the hydraulics. I drive my car everyday without a problem.
The cam was designed by Thunder Racing: http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...22&sid=88#P401. The part number is 99-TR230/224-111
I chose that cam because it was really popular in the forums, and has been around a long time and I didn't want to be a guinea pig. The cam is great for stock heads. It has a pretty low LSA (lobe separation angle) of 111, which will shift the peak hp down in the RPM range because the intake/exhaust are closer in time.

nice racing but your numbers should be in the 400rwhp range with that cam even though its not that big. 360rwhp is very low, ive seen m6's with full bolt ons with out a cam put down 360rwhp i think you dyno was off

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I had the option to put more paint on their like fill in the pontiac and side vents plus adding a blackbird like emblem on the side, but I'm glad I went with the quasi subtle look.
Yeah, 4.10's. Initially I had Richmond gears installed bought from Summit. But I tore the teeth off of those fairly quick so I switched to GM gears and they haven't given me any problems thus far.
