guitar players... what is your favorite scale?

what is you favorite scale...

i like a blues one.. i'm not sure of it's name...

I'm just learning to play. You may or may not have seen the post sometime back that I got the guitar from my dad when he passed away last month.

It's a Martin HD-28. I had them set it up, straighten the neck and I needed some new thinner strings. My weak fingers weren't used to playing like he was.

It's got such a great sound. I'm spoiled to get to learn on in.

I'm picking it up a bit. My fingers are weak and slow, but I'm getting some coordination going.

I'm really a terrible player, and the only one I know is the penatonic(sp) scale....but you can play it anywhere.

i dont play many scales.

I play mostly modes and arpeggios. With arpeggios I will either sweep them or pick them out in various patterns or techniques (hammer or pulls or trills, slides etc...)

as far as modes I love to play, Aeolian and Mixolydian.

Key: A-minor and A-minor pentatonics.

remember Arpeggios are notes of a chord/scale/mode being played in a rapid succession.

Modes and notes in A-minor

Ionian - abcdefg#
Dorian - bcdefg#a
Phrygian - cdefg#ab
Lydian - defg#abc
Mixolydian - efg#abcd
Aeolian - fg#abcde
Locrian - g#abcdef

ive been playing for about 6 years and ive yet to learn/attempt a scale. i pretty much taught myself with help from a few friends. ive been told im pretty good but i dont see it. i just go off of tabs. i know a shitload of ac/dc, zeppelin, floyd, skynyrd, ratm, ccr, marley, srv and some others i cant think of.......taught myself all i know from guitar tabs either online or from album guitar tab books.
