2 GTs, eclipse, cummins, and SUPRA

So last saturday night was my first time takin the new SS out for some fun...Just got it and its stock except for a mild cam not sure what specs exactly. Also along for the ride was my 350lb friend riding with me so I had some extra weight too.

first up was a 01-04 body style GT mustang, we started at about 30 or so and before I could shift to third I got cut off and had to stop I had a half a car length on him but it wasnt much of a race cause we got cut short. When we got to the redlight he refused to race me again....

Next redlight an eclipse that was all riced out pulls up beside me and we raced from a stop. By the time I shifted to third I was way ahead of him. Didn't expect much competition.

Then this annoying Dodge cummins wants to race and I didnt feel like wasting time with him cause had a 1 ton pickup with 10 people in the 4 door cab and a big lift on it. But eventually I got tired of him blowing black smoke in the car every red light so I gave him his wish and we raced from a stop. By the time i shifted to third i was probably at least 6 cars ahead of him.

By this time Im 3 for 3 and Im feeling pretty good about my car. Next, however, a little while later, I pull up to a light in the right hand lane and notice a brand new GT with a couple of cute girls driving in the far left lane who want to race and as we're talking a nice looking supra pulls up between us in the middle lane. The light turns green and the mustang and I take off and as Im pullin away from them I hear a turbo spooling behind me. At this point Im running 70 or so and when I begin to turn behind to look...the supra flies by me like Im sitting still. I was humbled.

So now Im gonna have to add a turbo to my list of mods...

Damn supra's.. usually the ones ive run into on the road are NA or stock but every so often theres that damn built one that just whoops ass. although i wouldve let him take the win and asked the girls if they needed some comfort

Lot of people dont realize that it does take a grip of money to get a supra to gain alot of power. Many people think just by putting on the regular bolt ons you have a car that has 500+rwhp and thats not the case. You can put regular bolt ons and have a very fast supra but one that blows by you the way it did is costly. I do like them to be honest and everytime i see one i cant really tell if its really modded or not, so its a gamble if you wanna race one. When i had my 01 SS 6speed i raced an Auto supra and he told me he has no issues beating LS1 cars, at this time he had meaning the supra intake, exhuast, downpipe, BOV and the hoses were takin off his waistgate he said he was boosting 17psi and would drop to 15 right when it shifts then climbs back up to 17 again. From what i can remember him tellin me stock they boost 11-11.5psi not sure at all about that.

My 01 SS and the supra owner raced several times, what i can remember positively is at LACR we raced 3 times and we were dead even, i won all 3 races by half a car but that was due to me pulling a BIT in 3rd gear but couldnt pull away on him. The other races were all on the highway and it was dead even. The only mod i had on my camaro was a flowmaster muffler, exhuast cut out and Lid.

nice kills, and screw the supras people put alot of $$$ in those to make them fast, if I had the dough id much rather put it into an LS1, sounds better and its AMERICAN nuff said...

Supra's can make serious HP, but their big problem is getting that power to the pavement. Ive seen a few 500+ HP supras run at the track and none where running under 12 sec. passes. As long as your racing one from a dig even a fairly stock ls1 can hang. From a roll though... your just asking for an ass whoopin.

Yes Supras are nasty! I know mine won't be as fast as before.. but it would cost me 5 times the price of this swap for a 2JZgte in decent condition with less that 90k miles on it lol

Meh I raced a evo 9 MR from a light and kept him on his toes till i started creeping into 4th when i hit 4th he passed by me but not by much.

lol, there's always someone faster. I know what you mean about hearing the turbo spool...that's intimidating enough
