rocker arms ???
im tightening the rocker arms after installing hardened pushrods and i noticed that the rocker arms donts sit center on the valvespring, they are a little off. is that normal??

mine do the same thing...you could buy some pushrod guide plates to straighten them out but i think it is pretty normal to have that kind of play in it

I assume you mean side to side. There is some slop in the bearings that will allow this. Make sure you use the correct tightening procedure. If you just installed a cam, make sure you check geometry.

and here i was just thinking i could tigthten them to 22 lbs ft, (or 264 lbs inches) and be done with it. i didnt think i had to do it in any specific order

do i have to have the #1 piston in tdc before tightening the rockers, i dont have a socket big enought to fit over the crankcase bolt to turn the damn thing to tdc, and i really dont wanna walk to autozone to buy one, its 8am here and everyone i know is eithier asleep or at work.

yes other wise your when you torque the rocker arms some of them will have pressure from the valvesprings and you wont be torquing it as much as you think
sucks but thats what you have to do
