blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
yup..as with them open they will introduce unmetered air into the system..throwing off your o2's readings and making the pcm think there is a lean condition

yes you do. replace it before you install the headers because it will be much harder to replace afterwards.
also, good info about the AIR and EGR systems!! I didn't know that.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
If you're deleting the EGR and AIR then you should've purchased LT's without those hook ups. This eliminates the need for block off plates.
Otherwise block off plates are fairly easy to fab up.67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...
2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior
2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.
Carbon footprint? CLOWN SHOE!

thunder racing has them too......I'm with the other guys though. If you have the ability to cut thin metal I would just trace out the flanges and cut your own. Very very simple. You can also use a 1 3/8" adjustable freeze plug to plug the egr port on the intake.

i made mine it was so easy. just trace the air/egr provisions and then cut them out of a thin metal. Throw a little rtv on them to seal them properly and your good to go for under 15$

When I made them for my motorcycle a few years ago I went to Home Depot and picked up a some aluminium stock (about 1/8" thick) and used a Dremel with a cut off wheel to make them. Very easy to do. Literally took about a half hour to make the plates- longest part was polishing them. Just use the gaskets off the EGR and AIR connections on your new plates.
Now, if you're trying to get past inspection, you could do the sandwich method and leave everything installed, just blocking off the pipes. Keep in mind that you'll need to have the PCM tuned to cut out the codes it'll throw when you block off the EGR and AIR.
