Angry Hood latch too stiff for fiberglass hood......

Hey guys i just got my car back from the body shop, i have to put my hand flat on the hood over the latch hook and SLAM it down, i dont like doing that w/fiberglass hood, its liable to crack or chip paint slamming it like that.........

so how do i adjust the stiffness of that lever that pushes up on the hood??

    replace it or cut it?

couldnt you hold the latch and close it like that? that piece you have to pull up when you open your hood, could you hold that up when you close it?

You just got it back from a body shop.
    Was there front end damage??
    Was it like this before??
Did you ask the manager at the body shop why it's like that??
Did you ask them what to do about it??
Does it need some white lithium grease on it??

no damage, i just put a ss hood on z28.....its not nearly as heavy as the stock one...

it was the same way, before you could drop the heavy steel hood and not have to push it down

    im gonna try some grease......

its the lever that pushes the hood up, NOT THE LOckING mechanism

    Well lube it & see
I don't know of any adjustment for it.....maybe they use a lighter spring for the SS hood
I never slam mine shut either....I place it in position and shove it home with both hands
