Grinding and locking in 3-4 gear

I have a 1998 6 speed z28 and the synchros are going bad, its also locking up the transmission if i try and slam it into gear. Has anyone replaced synchros in a t56 ? And how difficult is it.

If it locks up the transmission, you've got more than sychro's on the way.

dude, i had a HUGE write up bookmarked on my computer b4 it crashed this week, so sorry! I've heard a rebuild is nearly 1200 or so-which is near the price of a new one...sooooo consider your options.

the transmission didnt really lock up, i slammed it into 3rd and it was stuck there and it took all i had to get it out of third and into another gear, after about a minute it acted fine...weird
