who has the mufflex bump stop?
I'm getting my headers and ory soon. people say there could be a problem with the y pipe banging under the car and the mufflex bump stop hanger will stop this. I'd like to save the $40 and not have to buy it if it doesn't bang. how many of you guys had this problem?

You don't have to get the Bump Stop. If you are taking it to a shop of even at home, you can weld a L-bracket onto the y-pipe and install a slotted hanger to the unitized frame. That is off course if you have a welder.
I have QTP LTH's and Pacesetter Y-pipe and have no issues with it hitting the floor board. It is a matter of getting it aligned correctly. Although, then again you may need it.
You can install the LTH's and Y-pipe without the Bump Stop. If it hits, you can always install it latter down the road.Last edited by 9t8z28; 07-15-2007 at 05:24 AM.

or just stick a piece of heater hose in between the car and pipe. lots of people have done that w/o problems.

Thanks for the tips. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait and see how everything turns out.

With my pacesetter and ory instail i have alot of bumping issues, i heated up the pipe and bent it down, didnt work, cut out a seciton of the pipe and welded in a new piece, worked better but not completely, then instailed the bumpstop and havent heard a peep since.
All sugestions above are good ones thou.

The bumpstop worked well for me until about 500 miles then the metal bracket broke in half. bought a new one and it did it again. So what i did was buy poly motor mounts and It is fixed. The reason why it bangs is because when the motor torque's up it takes the driver side pipe up with it and it bangs against the floor board. so the poly motor mounts keeps it from doing that.
