Throttle body ?
I have a 2000 Z28 and picked up a ported TB. Since then I found out that they switched to a different one somewhere in mid-2000. I want to make sure I have the right one so my question is, would there be any other way to find out other than taking mine off and comparing it to the ported one? And if it is different, is there a way to make it work or will I just have to get rid of it and get mine ported?

maroon- 2000 Z28
Are you talking about the mm size cause they all were the same from 98-02.

They all should be the same size. Earlier years had a different throttle cam so it opened faster, the correct one for your year should have a blue spring on it.

Yeah I'm talking about the throttle cam. I just brought mine down to the car and compared it to the one on there and the one on my car is noticably bigger so I guess I have the wrong one. Damn! I wish I would have known this before I bought it.

Bright Red- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
I could have sworn I read somewhere that we (2000 model year) could use the 98-99 version, but they just couldn't use one off of ours because the cable would be too short....
Can anyone confirm?2002 Silverado Z71 ECSB HPTuners tuned by yours truly

you can adjust the throttle cable on a 00-02 car to use a 98-99 TB, i am not sure where this adjustment is
a 98-99 car can drill a new hole on the cam lobe to use the 00-02 TBM6, Lid, Ported and Polished Throttle Body (By Me!), LT, Custom Catted Y, Electric Cutout, PHB, LCA13.21@108 with a 2.3 60'

red with black stripes- 2002 Trans Am WS6
the throttle body i got from summit came with different cams for it. It had the bigger one for the newer and smaller for the older. it came with a spacer to fit on the ls6 intake so i had to use the smaller cam with the spacer.

Just for an update. My mechanic friend was able to adjust the cable so it did end up working out. Thanks for your suggestions.
