Tranny Cooler
Has anybody installed a transmission cooler? I just ordered mine. Where should I mount it and did I waste my money on it?

Not a waste of money for an A4 IMO. I mounted mine "dope" style because the radiator is blocked by FTRA...just follow the directions provided with what you bought.

What is the purpose of a tranny cooler?! I understand it cools the fluid but whats the purpose? Longer fluid life or better on the seals and clutches or what? Just curious.

They help with harder driving or long trips on a higher mileage tranny . It says on the box "90% of all transmission failures are due to excessive heat".

here's how i installed a trans cooler on my 00 formula.
Mounted the transmission cooler in front of the condenser. Hayden 404 is the part number. Held in with two of the supplied plastic tie straps.
These are the original lines from the factory. The long one is the return line that is bolted into the topside of the radiator. The shorter one is the supply line and is bolted to the bottom of the radiator.
Make two cuts as shown to get the supply line off the hard line.
This is where you remove the factory lines off the hard lines. Then you connect two (2) four feet of 3/8" rubber line of high pressure hose to them. The transmission cooler comes with a six foot piece. Just not enough for the way I routed it.
I routed the lines from the hard line around the radiator through the plastic cover as seen here.
Had to cut a hole in the plastic side deflector so, I could bring the rubber hoses around to the front side where I put the transmission cooler.Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

you won't feel any difference unless you have a cooling issue now.
