I do think political and religious threads start more bad than good A lot of people will argue with incorrect info. Where as if you do that on tech your just a dumbass, on political threads your an asshole.

I think it makes sense to delete members who do not post. Someone mentioned six months and that would seem to be about right. This is a dynamic site that changes with the times -- topics and people come and go. Participation is what makes it all work.

As a safey net, a simple "Your membership is about to be deleted" e-mail would give an opportunity for one to redeem themselves. I viewed the site as a "guest" for a month or so before joining. If I ever leave the site, I would want my account deleted -- although it appears that is not permitted from a thread I viewed yesterday.

Certainly there is no harm in leaving all as is... but it just makes sense to clear out the unutilized memberships. If it is stats that matter, list along with the number of members the actual number who have posted in the past 60 days...

I will now cast my vote.

i think it shouldnt go by who dont post, but maybe when last signed in. . . a lot of people may be members and use the board for info a lot, but yet dont post much.
