I have the Nitto 555r 315/35/17R with 400+RWHP and RWTQ and the are great on the street and definatly managable in wet weather.....

Having said that i can easily break the tires loose so launching will require practice!!!

Personally i have always liked MT and with there new 315/35/17 Street radial that has 5/8" more tread width then the nitto and it hooks better AT THE TRACK but DD ability in wet weather and tread life i believe will be sacrificed a bit it all depends what your looking to do with the car..

I'm planning on gettin the new MT's but need to make sure they will fit..I currently have 17x11 rims with the Nitto 315's mounted on em but on big slanted driveways they rub slightly and they have 1/4" spacers on them...So if i switch to the MT 315's which are 5/8" wider im hoping i wont need to extend the studs and get a bigger spacer so i wont rub...Well just have to see

    LOL how stupid of me

But you will def love the tires, great all around performance, tread life is very good and once you HEAT the tires up they hook very nice for the street....

PS 315's look dead sexxi on the back of our cars espically for the cars who always are looking at our tail lights now that can stare at our fatty tires haha

he he i like that logic man!

im thinking they will be good. have a few loose ends to tie up first before i mount em so the stockers are on and looking, well, stock.

im stock piling parts and in about two months there will be one week devoted to the f body. it will be a disaster area in my garage!! just the way i like it.

thinking about getting et streets just to have some variety in a bigger size... can never have too many dr's...

It's a good way to think....

The ET Streets are better then the Nittos but you need to sacrifice a bit for more traction but hey thats the payoff lol...

And you def can never have too many DR's, the more DR's you have the more rubber to roast!!!

You don't want to go with whatever is the widest.
Get what fits best. Too wide reduces the contact patch of the tire.

    I would say a 275 for a 9" wheel.

I know it's late to interject this, but what the hey! I couldn't help but chuckle... 452's were never made for the track. They're not even a superior street tire! I ran Nitto 555R's on the back of an 01 Mustang (don't ask) a few years ago, and was pleasantly suprised with how well they hooked. MUCH better than the factory Gatorbacks that goodyear had thrown on there OEM. I've not had the opportunity to experience the MT's. I'll have to look how they are in price comparison. From what I can remember, the Nitto's were dirt cheap.

The MT radial 315 will appear wider than the 315 Nitto DR. Something about the tread measurements.

Pricewise...the MT radial is cheaper for me (275/50/15) than the Nitto DR (315/35/17).
$169 for the MT and $189 for the Nitto.

i figured it wasnt an wider, just looks like it is. the nittos work for me but i will only use them on the street and ill get some mickeys for the track. i just think et streets and mickey slicks hook alittle better, i guess because of the tread pattern. just an opinion though.

heheh what the hey! LOL I know the 452 Falken are good for street, not too performant, but I returned them... got them MT et street DRs on the rear, still got Falken 452 on front, I doesn't matter on the front... they are 4 season tires on front, I wanted better stability on wet/ice...

to the DFW LSx gtg that I created and keep posting there for newest gtg etc...
