Blue- 2002 Z28 Camaro M6
<--- Hardtop Z28
I would think most people willing to spend the money on a SS or even a Z28 would also want to spend a little more and get ttops as well. Unless you have different agendas such as making a road racer eventually.

Ss Vs Z28
The reason I bought an SS instead of a Z28 was that for $ 4000 you get quite a bit for your money . The functional hood , the better diff , rims and tires , spoiler and the most important the suspension . If you went out and bought them sperately ,and had someone install them for you . Im sure it would cost more then buying the SS option in the first place . The hood alone would cost about a grand. Tires another $1000 . I love the way the hood looks , makes it look mean . As far as being faster , the SS has a few more ponies , but the B4C pakage is lighter so they are very close .

Bottom line is they are both Camaros , and of all the cars they are the best bang for the buck out there .
Here is a good site for FAQ for all years and makes of the F-Body .

Some of you argue that the ss is better or has more hp cuz of the exhaust or whatever...none of this really matters unless u keep the car stock. I mean who cares which one had more hp at the beginning....well some of us don't, cuz we are just gonna mod the hell out of it

I'm surprised to hear this, since my '01 Z28 does NOT have a power steering cooler- Option code V10, I think- A hardtop, it also came with the 'desirable' steel driveshaft, 235/55-16's and 2.73 economy gears- all of those features have been corrected, and it will eventually have the cooler, too- probably removed from a B4C which came from the factory with one, as part of the heavy-duty or severe service package
Oh, Z was a fleet car, ordered by the federal government, as shown by the GAM RPO code- bet that makes it pretty rare, since most goverment cars were B4C's- I have even seen postal inspector B4C'c-
So, I was able to buy it cheaply, and mod it the way GM should have built it-
