They didn't ask me to fill out shit, they just said, do you want to press charges, I said hell yes. Now nothing, pretty much, unless I go through the hoops of the bullshit.

The arresting officer should have taken your contact information and contacted you to go to the station and fill out your statement, or have you fill it out at the time of arrest. Not a big deal, mistakes happen. I'm sure the guy had a long day. Statements do take a few hours but can be worth it. The officers will ask you what took you so long to come forward. Just explain what happen and go from there. And yes, I have filled out my share of statements, I even had the cops at my house till midnight making sure we had everything right. It did help that I knew them.

My job IS filling out statements and it takes less than 10 minutes.

It only took me hours because there was a lot involved, and they were comparing statements between me and someone else. I talked to my husband and he said the same thing, it only takes minutes.
