The ECU has a high idle for cold starts.
    Mine is 1150 until 150 degrees....then down to 925.

IAT sensor might be reading a little funny, or MAF could use a cleaning.

I c should I go ahead and have a shop check it out to make that is not a sensor? And what would be the best way to clean my MAF?

    Rubbing alcohol and q-tips.
    Be careful.

    K&N air filter by chance?
SES light is on if I recall. Run to VatoZone and get the code pulled.

Might as well make sure that is the only reason. If you are out, stop by a VatoZone and have them pull all the codes.
Write them down and report back.

You are right on how to clean the MAF. Very gently. Sometimes K&N oil can get on the sensor throwing off the readings.

Man guys just a while ago was awesome I found out who owned my car before me! and all the mod history. It was actually a member from here(transam98) who works down at SI performance in marion IL. Niles is a good guy and if you guys are in the southern IL area hes the man to talk on for a good performance shop. He seen the pics i posted and asked where I got the car and a couple diff. questions and he was like "you have my old car!" I was pumped.

Mr. Lous the idle was manualy set higher thats why it idles at 1000.

Before you forget, pull the rear control arms off the body and coat the inside "pockets" they sit in on the bottom of floor board. Thats where 4th gens rust out first!

I know from just one winter i had floor pan rot because slush got up in those pockets and sat there til it rusted!

nice car hutch, but you gotta do something about those tips, they look like they hang down really low (unless that was just the cam angle)
