dont know on that one, have to research it some, like i said before www.avsforum.com is a great site to do some research on these, literally from tube tv's to front mount projectors with full on dedicated theater rooms its all there, its kinda like the ls1.com of the tv world

I guess its Sears for me. I am probably gonna buy the one 40" sony they have in stock and exchange it when they get more in. Hopefully they have more stuff after black Friday. Damn Sears get some more DLP's!
i'd see if they'll cut you a deal for having to wait instead of goin through the hassle of exchanging them, save money time and gas

Yeah I already am on there and like a dumbass I just assumed that since the Mitsu I was looking at had a similar number that it was the same one everybody was talking about. Ah damn.

Next time I go to Costco I'm gonna get the exact model of the LCD and check on avs. I just thought you had another interesting tidbit like that one about the Costco Mitsu being downgraded from the ones sold at other retailers. Thanks for that cuz I was gonna pull the trigger on that Mitsu this weekend!

I bought my Samsung 42 inch LCD. I didnt buy Plasma cause I felt like I had a nuclear reactor sitting in my room. Plasma. Plasma. Plasma. Just sounded strange to me. Plus, I had money, and people say they take poop's larger than Larry King.

SO I have a LCD. And I love it.

Does anyone have anything to say about the true projector types........why don't more people have these. Best Buy's most expensive one is about 3000 and it is a full 1080p and goes from 50-300 inches. Why wouldn't you want this unless you don't have room? The screens are not that much as well, from what I've found. Does anyone have any opinions on the projector's(not rear projection) Thanks,

Well form what Ive read screens come in differnet quality and a decent screen costs more. Plus I think you would want a room that you can kinda make like a theatre. Ive heard people use black sheeting or paint the walls dark to get the full use of color or contrast the best. I might be talking out my butt, check out avsfourm.com for info.

I finally got a Samsung 46" LCD from Sears. It's the LN-T4665F. Haven't picked it up yet, it's raining now. I hope it fits in my Silvy's extended cab I'm gonna try and get it right now.

most expensive they actually are able to order is the vpl-vw100 sony pearl, its $10k, there's others between as well. a good quality screen starts around $1400 and goes up from there depending on what you need, also understand it takes a very specific type of room to allow for a projector set up, lighting, the angle of any lighting, how the projector and screen can mount, distance at which it will mount, all of the gets taken into condiseration as well as getting the source to the projector. they provide phenomenal pitures and are hard to beat but it does take some very specific types of rooms to make one work correctly

so if you were hanging out with a bunch of mustand or import guys and they all said that camaro's and firebirds and vette's were shit would you listen to that or actually do research and look in to it to see if what they're saying has any merrit, they plasma's dont put off a little heat which if the room is small can effect you but other than that and reflection off the glass there's not too many downfalls of plasma anymore

    Just so you know:

    60,000 hours is 27 years @ 6 hours a day.

The Bad: As far as plasma TVs go, that danger of burn-in has been greatly exaggerated. Burn-in occurs when a relatively static image such as a stock ticker, a network logo, or a letterbox bar gets etched permanently onto the screen. The potential for burn-in is greatest during the first 100 or so hours of use, during which time you should keep contrast rather low (less than 50 percent) and avoid showing static images or letterbox bars on the screen for hours at a time. After this initial phase, plasma should be as durable as any television technology. Many panels also have burn-in-reduction features, such as screensavers and pixel orbiting. Under normal viewing conditions, you should have nothing to worry about. The picture quality of plasma TVs varies considerably depending on the make and model.
Also, once a Plasma TV starts to dim, there's no coming back. Once the actual Plasma loses its dexterity and ambiance, it only goes downhill from there.

If you can afford Plasma, don't be afraid to purchase. Just make sure that the first 100 hours its turned on and off alot to reduce the chances of any burn in. New Plasma TV's are getting better by the day, and this issue is slowly starting to fade away.

Too many myths about plasmas that scare away potential buyers. Follow the break in period in you will have no problems with the plasmas. Again visit the AVS forums, I got the break in settings for my plasma and it worked great.

Also it helps getting a quality brand name plasma tv.

I have a 60" Pioneer Elite, no problems with it and looks awesome...way better picture quality than most LCDs I've seen. But that thing does put out some heat when in use.

Those new Sony's are really nice though. If space wasn't an issue for me I probably would've got one instead.

    Eh, bad analogy.

I have done research on maro's and bird's. I know the truth about LS1 power. Histories Mysteries on History channel learned me good.

I watched the show on my LCD btw. I feel that I understood it better because I could see it more clear and I didnt worry about this "plasma" running out of my TV and onto my dog.
