I won't be in my house another 15 years to let you know lol. Don't plan on taking the dryer or washer with me. Too much of a PITA. The next owner will benefit. In all seriousness, they are very well built machines and there's a reason why laundry mats and other commercial businesses (hotels and apartments) use them

Btw - they proclaim an average life expectancy of 25 years

Considering most are used in heavy duty environments as opposed to your typical load or two a day in a household is pretty good.
Been in business over 100 years too.
You'd think I work for them or something lol.

Not really. So far I've found them all extremely easy to fix. Taking my washer apart to get to the motor coupler was kind of a pain, but not at all hard to do and a pretty quick job as well.
The parts for for my oven were just over $110 and that included tax and shipping. Also pretty easy job to do.Last edited by KahanaReef; 02-24-2015 at 01:27 PM.

Parts delivered, part installed, dryer working again
Only needed the thermal fuse. One screw two wires, put the back back on. Done.

Trust me I've thought about it
I occasionally post on this "Nextdoor" website that has a bunch of people in our town posting about needing a handyman and this or that needs fixing, can someone recommend anyone, and I've come close to saying that I would do it for them. But, I haven't met most of these people and to be honest, I don't want to be an appliance repairman
But I will and have helped out my actual next door neighbors with computers and stuff like that. I did design a photo collage for one of people that live here that writes articles for one of our local papers though. Sometimes I think I stretch myself out to thin always volunteering my time and don't think wrenching on peoples washing machines is a direction I want to go

I wish more women did appliance repair, then spying "Plumber's Crack" might not be such a bad thing...
