Don't forget he also passed over the most talented WR in the draft, most draft experts feel he was a top 5 or top 10 talent, for another WR. I won't even get into the using a R1 pick to take Tebow, who probably won't see much playing time for 2 or 3 seasons. His decisions are being highly questioned at this point.

If they only expand 1, 2, or 3 teams then I think NU is gone and ND will stay Independent.

There are a lot of hard feelings still about the initial formation of the Big 12 and how it affected series games like OU-NU. Also, the academic restrictions imposed against prop 48 athletes. The general feeling is that Texas has had too much input at the expense of others. The location of the Big 12 CG is prime example. Apparently, the whorns don't want to play out door football in venues such as Denver and KC in December. Their fan support wouldn't be there. It's no wonder CU, MU, and NU feel the way they do.

As far as I'm concerned, I look forward to the matchups in the Big 10. If it turns out that way then good luck to OU in the Neo SWC league.
ND stays independent cause they'd get their ass kicked in the big ten or any other major conference.Tired of hearing and talking about that sissy school.

I'd welcome NU or Missouri in the Big ten...Might finally create some competition for Ohio State and Penn State.

The raidarrrrrrs trade today for Jason Campbell from the skins. So the QB competition for the raiders is between Campbell and Russell and Gradkowski(sp). Campbell is better than Russell though. I wonder when the raiders will just waive him. What a disaster.

Russell isn't the first no.1 pick qb to fail.

I agree that Leaf is a top 5 fail of fail, but the reason I would give Russell the nod over Leaf, is Russell got paid a hell of a lot more guaranteed money than Leaf did. Now Leaf did end up in jail IIRC for selling drugs or something. Also, I think Leaf was the #2 overall pick where Russell was the #1 overall. Slight edge to Russell IMO

    Agreed.

    I guess time will tell.
He seems to do well with free agency, but his drafts so far haven't been that great.
I can't pass judgment on this one for a while yet though. I think it could be great, or could fail. No way to tell yet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Leaf picked over Peyton Manning?Oh and didn't the Chargers let Drew Brees go to the Saints.

Leaf was given the largest signing bonus ever to a rookie(at the time). Russel was paid more, but due to economic situations now, the value of the dollar isn't the same. Leaf was said by many "experts" to be as good, if not better than Peyton Manning, when they were both drafted. I don't think Russell was compared to any of them. Finally, stats wise: Russel has played pretty terrible but never has he gone 1 of 15 for 4 yards and 3 fumbles. That's a heck of a game! In 21 starts, Leaf won 4 games. Career QB Rating of 50.0. Russell has a career rating of 65.

It was said during the 1998 draft that the two QB's were inter-changeable and you had a lock no matter which one you chose. However due to his physical build, many teams regarded Leaf as the better QB and able to stand up to more punishment.

    You mean more criminal punishment.

Peyton was the #1 overall pick, Leaf was #2 overall I believe. I know Peyton was #1 overall though.
