well i think a lot of people try to take on to much in the first few weeks, and thats why they fizzle out quick. Pacing yourself is important, setting small attainable goals. When i was in school and had two jobs i found it a little easer to stick to my running schedule. Sounds a little funny but when you prepare meals and have your gym stuff with you its easer to stick to a schedule. Might be worth a try, i remember running one night it was 8 degrees, the track was on the water and it was windy ass hell, the only reason why i did it was because the gym bag was in the car and i was already there.

You gotta stay away from the soda's man. Force yourself to drink water. Everytime you pick up a Dew from the store or where ever, put it back down. Tell yourself "No, I don't need this." Even if you get a combo from BK, just ask for water.
I have a problem with having to eat on the run alot of the time. I try to snack healthy during the day, and if I do have to go to McD's or something like that, I will get a wrap or two.
Though, I haven't had much time to work out lately. That's gonna change though

Just remind yourself what you are doing every time you have a craving.
Cheating here and there isn't so bad, but don't over do it. Since you are trying to meet your goal still, maybe one to two meals a week are ok. Definitely stay away from the soda no matter what though. That stuff is horrible for you. I personally don't ever drink it unless I need energy and i don't have coffee.
If you are getting bored with working out or tired of it. Take a week off maybe even two, but make sure you eat healthy during that time and maybe go for a jog here and there.
If you can afford it, you might want to get a membership at the Y.

Im currently having this problem too. In Feb/ March of last year I weighed in at 360ish lbs. I randomly started to lift with my friends and acutally got into it. Soon after i started to incorporate some cardio, and by Nov. i was down 100lbs. At that point i really started to get burnt out. I have still been loosing since then and am now down to about 240, however i am completley out of motivation. I joined a gym to help, however its just a bunch of old retired people that use the treadmill. I honestly think a workout partner would get me going again, i just cant find anyone.
And btw, losing the 120lbs has made me an entirely new person. I feel 1000x better, and cant belive i let myself get out of control like that. Honestly with my frame if i could get into the 220's i would be happy. That last 20 is killing me though

I am actually VERY happy with weighing in at 180-185 pounds.
I actually had people telling me I looked too thin at 174.
Ideally...I want to be 190 pounds but with a decent amount of lean muscle. I don't need size, but I want to look okay without a shirt as well.
I am hoping once this stressful class is over...I can get back to my normal routine. This class has stressed me out for some reason...and it is REALLY easy.

Luos you inspired me to start P90X after I saw your results. Schedule is way way way important. I had such a strong start on the program but once I started staying late nights at work..... where I am right now..... The workouts just stopped. I was so excited to start exercising again that I even improvised when it came to dumbbells. Since I don't own any I was doing p90x using the old front springs from my hawk.
You really stuck it through and had the results to show for your hard work. Everyone here was blown away by your total transformation. If you can't work out right now focus on your intake. Set aside one day where you can have a meal that satisfies your cravings. I used to pick saturday since i would usually be out with friends anyway.
If you end up with a crazy craving during the week ask yourself a question. If I could have a steak right now would i eat it? If you say yes then you should be eating real food and not whatever junk craving popped into your head. If you say no then you aren't really hungry and should be passing on the snack.
Another tactic is to wait when you have a craving. If you are studying and decide you want a mountain dew say to yourself i'll wait 15 minutes. If you go back to what you are doing and 15 minutes later are still craving a mountain dew.... have a glass of water. Then a small serving of the dew to satiate the craving.

ok so i didnt wade through the posts above, but i found the best way to stay motivated for me was to mix it up some, i mean the same thing over and over get to be lack-luster, like with running, pick a new route if you run outside, or lifting, im always changing my workout playlist on my ipod, and use that guilt feeling for your cheat mean to think hey, i need to make sure i keep active so i can enjoy one of those meals every so often

Yeah you're at a great weight. I'm currently really lean 160 at 5'9" and am the leanest I've probably ever been, although not the lightest since I've managed to retain some of the muscle I used to have.
Well said.
That's where you're given a paragraph to read and then answer non-obvious but somehow significant questions about the paragraph, right?
I think I remember that from taking the SAT. Maybe that was a different section. I don't know. I don't do all this academic shit to actually learn. psh.
wait, wat?

The point of the class is to basicly come together as a team, and figure out a way to solve a problem.
6 fucking weeks of charts and graphs and shit to figure out a problem that needed 5 minutes to fix.

I hate that shit.
I was doing chemistry homework the other day and simply put, you were given a and b, and the goal was to find z.
The example showed you did something with a and a certain constant to get c. Then c over b resulted in d. Then using a and c you found the something or other of whatever. Then you did 5 or so more equations that lead you to the final answer of z.
Then you realize z is the result of some fucking simple math using a and b. I realize all the superfluous bullshit they had us do was supposed to teach the meaning or theory or whatever, but fucking come on, jesus.

Pretty much sums it up.
We got to z after about 5 minutes of being in the team.
6 weeks to get these stupid charts and shit together....and bullshit with each other.

I like it when things turn out easier than you think they will.
I have a procedure proposal due on Friday, the one I'm working with those 3 freshman girls I mentioned in another thread. We met up Monday afternoon to get started, and in the first 3 minutes we realized we could just paraphrase the procedure from the experiment we did 2 weeks ago, add a title page, and be done with it. Made me very happy.

Well...since I have paid NO attention to anything in that class the last 4-5 weeks....
I now have to write a paper on what we did during that time frame.
