Thread: Trans am won't start

looks like it's time to break out the ole instruction manual for a snap on mt2500 tonight and go sit on the crapper and do some reading. I know that's where I do my best reading. Getting good at logging data will save you tons of headaches down the road. I would start out with map, O2 voltages, timing, maf, and fuel trims at a minimum. There are several other things you'll want to look at first but solving this map issue is probably job 1 at the moment.

black- 1998 trans am
Just an update for anyone following this thread.
I took the car to a local tuner and they changed out the final three plugs, put a gallon of c16, and another 5 gallons of fresh gas in the car. They also swapped out the MAF, MAP, and CPS which fixed all of the SES codes it was throwing.
The car will now idle sort of normally (approx 900-1000 rpm) and jumps to 1600 or so every once in a while but still does not run right. It is also coughing through the intake every once in a while. When shifted in to gear the engine dies. They are going to do a compression test and go from there.
