Do you live in the cities? I grew up around Detroit Lakes, and so many of the "lakes" are only sloughs. Kind of embarrassing to drive by a sign that announces what lake is behind the sign, and you can see only cattails and the woods on the other side(50 yards away). If nobody ice fishes it, Minnesota should declassify it as a lake.

Hell, North Dakota could take a run at 10,000 lakes if they counted sloughs.......

I live south of the cities. Minnesota requires a body of water to be at least 10 acres in size before being classified as a lake - but, being from DL, you already know that.

Some of the best ice fishing spots I've seen aren't classified as lakes, and not many know about them.

I see you are getting your few weeks in a little early this year!! I guess only half of the North was good enough to get into the playoffs..... You could ask the mods to change your screenname and come back in as a Vikings fan. That way you wouldn't have to wait so long to get into the playoffs as a wild card. LMAO

I know of at least 4 Pine lakes. We might not be the most original when it comes to lake names. Then we go crazy with names like Lake Nagawika.
