I guess theres only one way to find out....

You buy your cam... buy me a 228 then we race... But afterwards You have to buy me a mid 235...600 on a 114 cam for my car! Sound far?

Honestly I dont know who would win... I have never seen the race and Im not going to pretend I have or know anymore than I do. To the original poster.... I would look into a different grind, this just doesn't seem right for a 346. But you do what you want, dont let us stand in front of you.

The cam he's asking about is just a smidge bigger than a Trex. Not even sure if it'd fit with out flycutting. He never stated his goals for the car. He hasn't even posted again in this htread at all so I don't know why we even care but if he wants a track cam only car it sounds good. I would go with a more proven one like the Trex or G5X4.

From the first post: That cam is way too big. It will not idle; it will be very choppy. Also, you will not like the bucking that will occur at low RPM. Not good for drivibility.
The cam has way too much overlap.

I have a 244/248/112LSA cam. It will not run right under 2000RPM, tons of bucking. I tuned the engine for a month. I got alot of misinformation on how to get rid of the bucking. None of the advice worked. Finally, out of fustration, I took my car to a professional tuner who has been tuning cars for over 10 years. He flatly told me that with that cam, the car will always have bucking and a rough idle.

Ya I think the only thing that'll help that is some 4:56s.

I am on the rev limiter so fast out of the gate now with the 4.10s, I think that at 20 ft out, i'd be shifting to 2nd gear with 4.56s. It's funny that you mention 4.56s, I am actually thinking about going the other way, back to the factory 3.42s. (I think they are 3.42s)

Did you notice that the original poster has not replied to any of our posts.

Well if you run a 28' tire at the track it's the same ratio as 4:10s with a 26' tir, the 28s will help with traction too. With regular street rims the 4:56s will help with the surging. 3:42s would make it worse.

Yes, that may be with THAT cam, but not that huge one the OP mentioned. I would bet that even a 222/224 cam would wipe that huge thing ALL over the street. AT the track the bigger one might edge him out depending on stall/gears.

Completely baseless comment. Wipe it all over the street how? Might edge him out at the track? You obviously don't know to much about any of this.

The OP poster cam is a considerable amount larger than the cam you speak of. A 232/236 is a great cam. What LSA? Lift?
248/254.600/.612 112LSA... Theres no getting around it, that is a large cam for a 346.

Yes and cams similar in size such as the G5X4 and the TRex would gain even more power. Flat 11 sec timeslips cam only are not out of the ordinary. See Techs fastest cam only list:http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187330
My cam is custom grind 232/236, 613/613, 111'+1

Really, thanks for informing me about that. Considering I have seen what you might call "baby" cams take down ms3/4's, trex's, s-cams, and all those larger cams, BOTH on the street and at the track. It's called power UNDER the curve FTW.

I am not going by everyone on here, just with personal experience. I for one have a stock cammed gto with bolt ons that will take my buddy's torquer V3 camaro on the street with ease.
