i'm a bit confused, but the z's up and runnin...

all i did was put the starter back on and it turned right over. i tried bangin on the starter w/a hammer before i took it off and that didn't work. so is it most likely a fault with the electrical system or a less than 100% starter (i did test it at autozone and it passed 3/3 tests)

thanks harraquio, any info is much appreciated!

oh yeah, so i can jump the battery straight to the starter to check the solenoid?
yeah you can do that, but it would be much easier if youd pop the clutch, Ihavent serviced my TA's starter so i cant give you specific details however, you can try the battery jump in which you provide ground on the smaller terminal of the starter's solenoid, just slide the rubber boot and connect the negative jumper cable there, then the other end find a good source of ground (do not take it to your battery use that bolt by the alternator or somewhere on the chasis away from any fuel line) then the red one connect it to the battery positive and then when you are all ready tuch the positive side with the red jumper, however' be carefull with the ground (connecting the black) because that might get the starter going, if it does then just get ground and when your car starts take it off.

a much more simpler way to jump and probably easier but dangerous is to jump it there and there with a screwdriver!, becarefull if you choose to do it because the screw driver will make sparks but make shure you aint tuching any metal. just touch the negative terminal (the side with the rubber boot, or the smaller one first then bend/manuver it to the positive side that will cause it to engage. becarefull with the sparks and dot be affraid just dont tuch the metal, i would recomend a medum length screwdriver, because if youd use a longer one you risk touching metal, and would shock you, dont worry its not fatal (its DC) but it does let you know that its potent.

Again i would Recomend you to pop the clutch, but since your stater is not the problem then try that. but abot 90 percent its your Starter Solenoid/Relay. i am still searching to see where its located.

in one of the fuse boxes under the hood there's a starter fuse (i think its a relay, little silver box). looks cheap enough, and i have a multimeter to test it, just not sure if thats the problem or how to test it

cool, can relays fail intermittently? or better yet, will it still click when it works but sometimes doesn't?
