I got a ws6 so it has no traction control, pretty sure they never came with it?

My 02 has it too! -- The Verdict is in. You are Mistaken.

The window sticker from my 02 WS6 had it as a standard feature for that year.

Mine is a manual, so traction control would not work anyways when I drop the clutch at 2k rpms.

Where in the hell do you guys come up with this stuff????

If you have traction control you have a TCS button It is located in front of the shifter (on Trans Ams anyway)--- If you start the car. It is automatically engaged. If you push the button which turns the lighted button OFF. and turns a display in your Guage cluster indicating it is off. Then you have disengaged TCS.

It was an option - not standard equipment. I believe it was around a $400 dollar option or so. And It works--

If you dump the clutch @ 2k or 5k if it is on -- It works. The rear brakes will be applied and you will feel the gas pedal pushing back up, It isn't a single stage traction control system. I believe it is described as a 3 stage system. You will also see a light saying Low Traction in your guage cluster. When that light goes off the TCS stops correcting the spin.

If you dump the clutch @ 2, or 5k and it is off --- You will Spin.

Man -- I never thought I would be the one teaching people about F-bodies on this forum.

Traction control (TCS / ASR) was an option on any '98+ Firebird / Camaro, even SS/WS6s. Can't vouch for '93-'97 cars, bit it was probably available in certain years then too.
