Ok...You guys are going to have to explain to me because I'm new to LS1s (hopefully will have my evo stripped down and into a c5 vette here within 6 months)

I run 22psi on 93 octane with a CR of 8.8:1 in my little import....what is the limiting factor with the LS1 that makes you not be able to run big boost? Is it the piston/rod material? Crank?

hell I've run 33psi spraying methanol with 93 octane in the tank, I guess huge boost on v8s is a no no?

I'm sorry for such a Barney Style question, bare with me, I'll learn.

It is the pistons/rod, crank can handle 1000bhp, but the rest of it can't and also the compression ratio is too high to get big boost without lowering it.Im running 7psi on my maggie, and I won't do more than that without lowering compression and forged internals

A stock engine should be able to handle pump gas with 8# of boost.
how much HP/TQ will you get with an 8 PSI D1 on stock LS

That should get you about 125-150 rwhp easily.
