blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
yea. the ram air is a marketing thing. at 150mph+ you get a lil extra but like 1 hp maybe..

that's why the ls6 intake and better flowing catback is actually 15rwhp
the ram air is bogus. better buy the SLP cai kit (which I have) from in front of the radiator and gain the 5hp
.. looks like a sleeper too. zoom zoom zoom.
PS. save your $800 and don't get the ram hood. shoot get some LT H and Y for that and will nail you 20-25rwhp.Last edited by djvaly; 12-03-2006 at 05:19 PM.

Black- 1998 Trans Am WS6 'Vert
Dude, get your info straight before perpetuating mis-information.
WS6 was an available option on T/As from '96-'02, and on Formulas from '96-'00.
The LS6 intake manifold that was added to the LS1 engines in '01-02 had NOTHING to do w/ the WS6 package. The LS6 intake helped make the 5HP increase that was seen across the f-bod board in '01+:
Base Z28, TA & Formula HP = 305 from '98-'00, 310 in '01 & '02
SS*/WS6 HP = 320 '98-'00, 325 in '01 & '02. (*SLP offered other options for more HP on SS)

dude, there may a WS6 package available on 98-00... but u have to pay extra... I'm talking stock.. zzzz.. also 01-02 have ws6 as stock not as an add on perfomance package that's why it is tied with the LS6 intake manifold.
as far as '96 u talking of LT1 TA cars not LS1... I checked my info and I stand by it, go back and do some research newbbie
most people will mod their '98-'00 as WS6 by getting ram air hood, LS6 instake and a WS6 emblem on the back,.. ohh big deal.

hahahah...
let me break it down:
ram air hood has been around I guess previous than '01.. but...
'98-'00 are regular V8 LS1 TA. they do not have the ws6 package from factory, but may be optional. but most people do slap in the ram air hood and LS6 intake and call it a ws6.
'01-'02 are the real ws6 where they come out of the factory with the ws6 package installed. which included the ls6 intake, ram air hood and a better catback.
