The car will accelerate slower though right then it would with my stock 3.42 gears
With a six speed and 4.10's you want to be in fourth at 75 mph. The car will accelerate faster from start to finish, but you will have to shift into fifth gear at about 125 mph, and shift more often throughout. After a couple months you will be shifting like shumacher with practice.

When driving around town with 4.10's third gear seems to be useless. As soon as you shift to third it seems it is time hit fourth in about 3 or 4 seconds.

The gears you select will depend also on your rev limiter. I found that with 4.10's I was shifting VERY often with the stock rev limit, but when the rev limiter was set at 6600 rpm after the cam install, it made all the difference in being able to stay in the same gear for longer. Not to mention from 4K to 6.6K is the real spot in a cammed LS1. When its really turnin' and

that is correct. you loose top end speed but acceleration would be improved greatly. better 1/4 times...

    4.10's

I got Motive 4.10's last fall in my M6, also had a tune at same time. Wow!! Love the 4.10's, feels like it's accelerating mucho stronger. I haven't taken it to the strip and it's not a daily driver so I don't sweat a little higher rpms.

Damn guys, if someone wants mpg as a big necessity, there are much better cars for that out there than an LSX vehicle. Sure, we get good gas mileage when we stick it in sixth on the highway, but for the most part the hot-driven LSX is not great on gas going through the gears. You would have to drive like grandma, and that just doesn't seem right when you are behind the wheel of an LSX powered monster.

In 6th gear at 70mph the diference is 300 rpm between 3.42 and 4.10.
each gear will top out sooner (lower mph) so theoretically you could see 160 mph in 6th instead of 5th.

yea key word is theoretically. becuase 6th gear is way to tall to gain speed at higher speeds
