Diff Techs Shaft continued
Thanx Ls2. I need some support. I am almost certain you are right that the IE shaft will operate vib free at 120 plus. It feels smooth so far, and it eliminated the the clunking.
Now what did Sarge state about the installation of the extreme performance shaft? Did he and another member state that it is necessary to trim the transmission tailshaft 1/2" to install the shaft? What is that about?? Red.

YES...........IE WAS SMART ENOUGH TO ELIMINATE THAT GAY A_S TRIANGLE WANNA_BE YOKE>
You have to cut the nipple coming out of the pinion gear so you can put a "regular" yoke with the BIG Spicer U-Joint..
No big deal cause you'll never go back to the stock pu__y 2 piece deal with "motor mounts" on both ends!!!!Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

Diff Techs continued
I now understand which shaft needed triming. The pinion shaft. One of the members asked Sarge if the "tailshaft" needed triming, which I understood to mean he was referring to the transmission tailshaft. The IE shaft, of course, requires triming of the pinion drive shaft alignment dowl in order for the yoke-type 1350 cross joint to fit. Red.

Is the BMR 1pc driveshaft good? Do you need to cut anything to install that, or just bolts right up? Anyone have it and had any vibration issues with it? I am also looking to replace my drive shaft. Looking into a Procharger

No I don't know anyone taht has spent the money on the BMR.......
I'm pretty sure seeing that they state that they include a new rear yoke that you would need to cut a portion of the nipple off the pinion gear.
It uses the same large style u-joints everyone else uses too.
Even if you placed a hole in the yoke it seems to me that the nipple would still hit the u-joint body.
You already did exhaust mod didn't you...? Cause it will be VERY close if not rubbing on the passenger pipe.

I have the BMR drive shaft and SLP loudmouth 2 exaust....as for the install no problem, bolts right up, except you will have to put shorter bolts in the seatbelt bolts, because this is a clearence issue. that is it though easy install, no problems with vibration, been well north of 120.....however if your car is an M6 you will start fnding other weak links to the drive train....If you start making more rwhp, I just ordered new half-shafts and axel stubs.....this is my second rear end. the first was warranty, now blown, I'm beafing this one up myself...junk factory parts....lol..hope this helps
'04 gto M6 slp ceramic coated headers,B&m sport shifter, harrop cover,3.5"aluminum BMR driveshaft, BMR axle stubs, BMR Half shafts, BMR SFC's, loudmouth2 exaust,90mm FAST T/B,Magancharger(high helix upgrade)......other misc. suspension,Cross drilled, slotted rotors. Meth Kit, spraying @ 3psi and up

I have a Loudmouth II waiting for me at home...Glad to hear it fits up nicely with the BMR Driveshaft. And I really like that you dont have to cut stuff to install the BMR. How much RWHP and torque are you running? Are you still on stock internals?
