I feel like something was taken from me as an American on 9/11 and even today, 5 years later. I can't even begin to imagine how the families of the victims feel. I can't imagine how you feel, knowing that you lost close friends in the towers that day.
One of the worst things among many that day was sitting on the brooklyn bridge that was closed and just watching the rubble from towers burn and not knowing what was going on.

I was back in NYC for the first time since moving to Florida 4 years ago. I went to WTC site and there was still debris being cleaned up. They had a lil memorial set up with everyones name who had passed on these black stone boards with everyones name engraved on it. They also had a timeline posted of the events that took place that day along with drawings and pictures of the new site they are going to rebuild there. I have tons of pics i took while i was there and i will post some when i get home since im supposed to be working right now lol...It was definately sad to go back there and relive what happened that day.

Amazingly there was still half a staircase standing. That was the only thing left of the buildings.

i still remember my 4th day of class of freshman year at stuyvesant highschool on chambers street, (three blocks away from the wtc) walking out of the cmabers street #2 station to go to my 3rd period class, and seeing the second plane hit right in front of me. I ran into school and went strait to my sisters homeroom, and then we evacuated right after the first buidling fell. Everyone in lower manhattan was running up the west side highway walkway, and we ended up wlkaing around 6 miles that day to get into a train to go back home

worst day of my life, and just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach. all i could think about that day was finding my dad who worked a few buildings over. i was so relieved when we were all back home together

I hope everyone takes some time today to reflect...

I had just gotten back from class to my dorm room where my roommate was watching tv.. this was right after the 1st plane hit... I asked what movie it was.. as I noticed the CNN at the bottom... I sat down and stared for the next hour.... then called my sister to wish her a ... not so happy Birthday..

Well Sorry! I was in my office at work, when someone had asked if I heard about what was going on. I turned on my little portable T.V and witnessed the second plain coming in.

Yeah I hear that a lot of people want that stairway to remain there because it was their way of escaping out of the towers.

Just be thankful for that. Not everyone got to be reunited with their loved ones there. Some people say they "felt" their loved ones dying when those towers collapsed. I can't imagine that kind of pain and I feel so sorry for the victims' families.

Thank God for the heroic efforts of the people on Flight 93 as well. I don't care what anyone says, these men and women fought back against these bastards and almost took the plane over. If they had had more altitude I'm confident that they could have been alive to tell us all about it. I hope they set a good example for us as citizens. We've got to stop this kind of thing from happening again.

That day will never be forgotten. To this day I don't know what to say about that day. When I watched it on TV it looked like some kinda Hollywood movie, just something you would never expect to see or happen in real life. I can't imagine the pain the people had to go through. I believe the family's will reunite one day. I hope and pray nothing will ever happen like that again.

there’s a sign hanging from our balcony we put up last night… ‘have you forgotten?’….. we were standing out there a few hours ago.. and some asshole coming back from class had the nerve to ask.. ‘about what?’…….

    I will never forget…
