Unless it's a fully auto you don't have anything to be nevous about.

black- 2000 nhra edition formula
no shooting range will let you shoot like an idiot trying to blow shit up.
AK/47s do not make horsepower, cars do.
AK/47s are not illegal at all.
everybody keeps talking about if its auto when the poster didnt even say it was.
you dont need a class 3 stamp to make it full auto. making AKs full auto is rather easy, just get the parts.
look in the back of shotgun news for full auto parts kit.2000 nhra edition formula

Maybe with a Hellfire or similar EXTERNAL trigger mechanism you can say that, but if you touch the internals (sear, etc.) to make it full-auto, expect a local BATF agent to make your lodging reservations for about ten years.
There was a young girl killed in a local Theme Park by an errant bullet fired from a "modified" AK47 about 18 years ago. Although the shooter did not intentionally try to harm anyone, he did have a weapon altered to fire fully-automatic. He ended up getting a Federal sentence because of the altered weapon. I'm pretty sure it was ten years.
Do NOT alter the internals of ANY semi-auto to make it fully automatic!!! That is a Federal Firearms Violation. It doesn't matter what state you are in.
AK47's are reliable and work well in bad conditions. That's their forte. Both the round 7.65 x 39mm and the rifle itself are not known for great accuracy, just decent. A typical M1A or M14 shoots a slightly more powerful round (7.62 NATO or .308 in civilian guise) with a lot more inherent accuracy. Inside about 150 yards or so, an AK is a good weapon. More than that, it becomes mediocre. Didn't somebody earlier claim it was very accurate? I guess that would depend on your definition of accurate. I will give the AK an "A" for dependability, but it's at best a "C" in the accuracy department. Anyone who doubts that show some pics of winners using AK's in high-power rifle matches. They are ruled by NATO cartridges.Last edited by jad628; 07-31-2006 at 09:21 AM.

i do know that you can have it here in texas as long as it isnt fully auto. you dont even have to have a license to have a semi auto one. and i think that you only have to be 18 also to have a rifle.

Check gun laws in NY. You might be surprised. You can't even haul a disassembled gun through that state in your trunk if you don't have a permit as a NY citizen.
