well if she had mental problems, she was prolly bipolar. That is really rough as my mom was also. It's quite a roller coaster ride with that.
Everything happens for a reason, you just have to accept it and move on. It's hard though.

There is some truth to being genetically pre-disposed to suicide. And I agree that the child needs alot of support. I know my neice and nephew have had alot of family that cared for them, but between the two of them, their lives are on different tracks because of the suicide.
Having said that, I know for myself at least, I have never thought of ending my life. However, my youngest son (28) has told me that he thinks of it sometimes. He and Brandon we a year apart and although Brandon was the youngest, Tommy looked up to him for certain things.

I lost a friend a few years ago. He hung himself in his apartment. I knew he was on some meds for depression and had been having a rough time. I'd went out with him to lunch earlier that week. He actually seemed happier then than he seemed in a long time. People told me that's just how suicidal people get when they've made up their mind to do it. Things stress them out less because it'll be over soon for them. I never would have thought it. I know a close aquaintance/not so close friend of his, even I felt terrible and somewhat responsible like maybe at lunch earlier that week if I'd just asked... "How are you?" and meant it, he might have vented or whatever.
Suicide is a terrible thing.
I hope that her daughter gets the help she needs.

well the wake was last night it was hard but not to bad, i saw a lot of people that were in my life when i was young. the poeple were all cool. (dora the one who took her life) looked very pale and her eyes were sonk in. other wise looked like her. i found out that a friend of mine from way back found her and not the daughter. he's 3 years older then me. i have kids so to see this womans daughter it was the hardest to have a 13 year old girl look at he mom dead, and for the only reason that she took here life is really fucked up.
so at this time i would like to thank all of you for you surport, and advice in a time for need for me. thank you all.

UNFORTUNATELY, YOU HEAR ALOT ABOUT SUICIDE IN THE SPRING, YOU WOULD THINK WITH ALL THE NEW BEGINNINGS (NATURE, ECT) AND BEAUTY THE SPRING BRINGS, IT WOULD BRING OUT THE BEST IN ALL OF US. I REALLY FEEL FOR THE PEOPLE SHE HAS LEFT BEHIND ESPECIALLY HER DAUGHTER. WHAT A HARD THING TO GO THROUGH AT THAT AGE, WHEN YOU ARE ASKING SOME MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT LIFE IN GENERAL.

Good question. Especially as it is important to dicuss the probability od hereditary mental illnesses like bipolar etc. She will need to be aware of this at the appropriate age.

and being that she is thirteen(or fourteen?), I would assume that means soon? Lori?

05-12-2006, 01:28 AM #34I would think that is better than being found by her daughter, I have no idea how she would take that
