Small exhaust leaks usually "tick" and sound a lot like valvetrain noise. Easiest thing to do is look it over good from all angles -- a crack will usually leave carbon tracks around it, or on adjacent parts.

Any updates?

Going to go under and look at the exhaust manifold today. Have my doubts that this is the cause. Sometimes it runs perfect, sometimes not. I think if the manifold was cracked it would be consistently bad.
